Sissie's Crochet Place

Been 2 Years!!

WOW can not believe it has been over 2 years since I posted here!!! Life gets in the way at times I guess. think=g are all different now. I no longer live in WV, am back in Florida near my family again:) Have not done any more Charity delivery's have been doing a few squares here and there to help others with their Charity's. If you are doing a charity please let me know and I will see if maybe I can help you a little.
Just got Finished with making 2 Robots for 2 of my Grandsons for christmas & a Blue Monkey for my 3 year old Grandson. he wanted it blue like Boots of of Dora:)
Then last night i made a set of coasters.

WE HAVE FINISHED & DELIVERED 106 BLANKETS!!

Well everyone we did it!! we meant our goal of 100 blankets to deliver to the Victory Junction Gang Camp!!!! I want to thank everyone that help me again this year!! for without all you ladies out here that give so much of yourselves this could not have happened. you all do so much more than I and oh my lord at all the talented crocheters we have out her!! way to many great blankets here to even think about choosing a favorite.
and I think we have all managed to find a couple of new patterns that we will be wanting to try out LOL

I was only able to take a couple pictures at the camp. as I had NO Idea that they have hours to which you can take a tour:( and they had no where for me to display on these great blankets for you all to see. but none the less I took a couple.

now we will all rest and get ready for our next years challenge LOL

I pray that God will lay many,many blessing on each and everyone of you. for i feel bless just knowing you all.

This is the big Balloon that stand over the camp
This is the Travel center, which is right outside the gates. this is as far as you can go without a tour guilde
Meet my hubby of 31 years. we are standing with the camps mascot. John was happy to go with me and help can't you tell! LOL
This is inside the Travel center which is way small! but you can see there are 7 bags of blankets standing here and a couple more that we were unable to get as my sister-in-law could not back up any more! the gentleman standing with me was in charge of the center this day

From Robert: "I'd like to take a stand for all of us husbands who live with a crocheter. From years of experience gained from being married to one, there are several bits of advice I feel qualified to give:

Learn not to attempt to communicate with her when a new crochet magazine has arrived until she has scanned it at least twice.

Adjust to all the leftover yarn from all those projects, as it will be stored anywhere available. No place is sacred.

Learn how to buy yarn on your trips to the store, as you do not buy by color alone -- you buy by lot numbers.

Be prepared to be totally amazed at the results of your wife's handiwork with hook and yarn, especially with all the money she saves in gifts.

Learn to show the appropriate sympathy and compassion as she unravels hours of labor after finding out that a mistake has been made either by herself or the pattern publisher.

A lady from my Crochet Group shared this with us and I thought it was cute and wanted to share also:)

Relay for life lapghan

Here is my Relay for life walk Lapghan to be put up for Auction this year, Last year they made $125 of the one I donated! This blanket was granted to me as a wish in my Yahoo group cause I knew I did not have the time this year to make it on my own. So this one was made for me by a dear friend Name Jessica from out in Cal. and I asked for the squares to be made in the awareness square and in cancer colors. I think she did a great job for me!

Afghan Made For Hubby

I made this afghan for my Hubby cause he got to where every time he saw me working on one of the blankets he would say "when do you plan on ever making one for me"! Lord I had no idea he even want one(me bad) LOL
and thanks to my friend Cindy who had heard me talking about it started sending me a skein here and there with swaps she would be sending me. and I keep thinking what am I going to do with one skein of this color yarn:)) and then on about the 4th package here comes all the rest of it and she calls me to tell me i now have enough to make John his own afghan!! I never even had a clue!! she is good LOL
the afghan is made out of "I love this yarn"(It is so soft!) and I use the strip genartor that my sister Shay had told me about and helped me pick the right one:)
when i fist started working on it I thought YUCK NO WAY this is going to be so ugly!! you can ask shay & cindy all i did was complan about it LOL but I keep with it and man did It turn out pretty good!:) and the main thing is John had no idea I was making it for him and he loves it! lays under it every night:)

So thank you both Cindy & shay For helping me to make my Hubby a happy & warm man LOL

My January Square for the C-A-L

This is my Jan square for the Calendar C-A-L that we are doing over at Dishcloth diaries. the square is called winter Dream. the second picture is the same square, Just add a little color to it:)
I will be using these same 2 colors for the whole year.

I have been given a second Award for my blog!

This aware is given to sissie who rallied people here on blogger and over at Crochetville last year to make 100 lapghans to ensure seniors at a nursing home had a better Christmas, and this year is rallying the troops to make ghans for sick children for Victory Gang Camps; one of the late great Paul Newman, Hole in the Wall Camps.

Thank you sandy for thinking of me with this award! That was so sweet of you! now I have to pass it on to five more blogs and that is tough cause there are so many out here!

But here goes:

#1 Cindy's Place for all the charity work you do helping me with all these blankets we make and even finding time to make burial grown for babies! and offering up squares all the time for any comfortghan needed. Cindy you some of the nicest work I have ever seen being it Crocheted or Knitted!

#2 Tammy's place for all you do for charity weather it be making scarves for the Special Olympics or Prayer Blankets for with Children with Nephrotic Syndrome I all ways like stopping here to read your uplifting words in god!

#3 Cherri's Shire For all your Charity work! you are like a crocheting Machine!! You so amaze me with all you do and to help so many people!!

#4 Annie's place for all you have done to get your charity up and running called "Compassionate Creations" so that we are all able to help you to help Victium of Abuse!

#5 Jimbo's Front Porch for all the hooks he makes for all of us to be able to use in our charity work and for he does to help with the traveling hooks over at Crochetville:)

ok there I have done it:) I am not good at doing this as you just never know who to pass on to as some might not like to do this and of course i never want to hurt any ones feeling and I enjoy every ones blogs and thank everyone that stops by here and supports me in my blog!
