you will need 3 colors
H Hook
Lhdc (Long Half Double Crochet) insert hook in st indicated (working over ch 1 sp), YO, pull loop through and extend slightly above row working on, YO and pull loop though all 3 loops on hook.
Instructions:
With color 1 chain 4, join to form ring.
Rnd 1: 8 sc in ring, mark end of round with a cc yarn scrap (do not join).
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (16 sc).
Rnd 3: Sc in first sc, 2 sc in next st, * sc in next st, 2 sc in next st* rep from * to * around. (24 sc)
Rnd 4: Sc in first 2 sc, 2 sc in next st, * sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st* rep from * to * around. (32 sc)
Rnd 5: Sc in first 3 sc, 2 sc in next st, * sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st* rep from * to * around. (40 sc)
Rnd 6: Work even. (40 sc)
Rnd 7: Sc in first 4 sc, 2 sc in next st, * sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st* rep from * to * around. (48 sc)
Rnd 8: Sc in first 5 sc, 2 sc in next st, * sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st* rep from * to * around. (56 sc)
Rnd 9: Work even. (56 sc)
Rnd 10: Sc in first 6 sc, 2 sc in next st, * sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in next st* rep from * to * around. (64 sc)
Rnd 11: Work even, sl st in next st, finish off. (64 sc)
NOTE: Work will cup slightly.
Rnd 12: With color 2 sl st into st above and between an increase on rnd 10 ch 4, 4 tr in same st as joining, tr in next st, dc in next 2 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in next 5 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, dc in next 2 sts, tr in next st, *5 tr in next st (corner made), tr in next st, dc in next 2 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in next 5 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, dc in next 2 sts, tr in next st* repeat from * to * around, ending with sl st in top of beginning ch.
Rnd 13: Ch 4 (counts as 1 dc and ch 1 sp), sk 1 st (should be center tr st in corner 5 tr group)*5 dc in center st of corner, (ch 1, sk 1 st, dc in next st,) 9 times (10 ch 1 sps), ch 1, sk 1 st, repeat around, ending with sl st in 3rd ch of beginning ch, finish off.
Rnd 14: With color 3 attach with a sc in any center st of a 5 dc corner group, 2 sc in same st as joining, sc in next 2 sts, *(Lhdc in sk st on round 12, sc in next dc) 10 times, sc in next st, 3 sc in next st (center dc of 5 dc corner group), sc in next 2 sts * repeat around (omitting the corner on the last side) ending with a sl st in 1st sc, finish off.
Rnd 15: With color 2 attach with a sl st in ant center sc of corner 3 sc group, ch 3, 4 dc in same st as joining, dc in each st around having 5 dc in center sc of corner 3 sc group, sl st in top of beginning ch.
Rnd 16: Ch 4 (counts as dc and ch 1 sp) sk 1 st (should be center dc of 5 dc corner group) *5 dc in center st of corner, *(ch 1, sk 1 st, dc in next st) 14 times (15 ch 1 sps), ch 1 sk 1 st, repeat around, ending with sl st in top of beginning ch, finish off.
Rnd 17: With color 3 attach with a sc in any center st of a 5 dc corner group, 2 sc in same st as joining, sc in next 2 sts, *(Lhdc in sk st on round 15, sc in next dc) 15 times, sc in next st, 3 sc in next st (center dc of 5 dc corner group), sc in next 2 sts* repeat around (omitting the corner on last side) ending with sl st in 1st sc, finish off.
Rnd 18: With color 2 attach with a Dc in any center sc of 3 sc corner group, 2 dc in same st as joining, dc in every st around, having 3 dc in center st of 3 sc corner group. ending with sl st in 1st, finish off.
edging: With color1 atttach with a sc in any center of 3 dc group, 2 sc in same st as joining, sc in every st around, having 3 sc in center st of 3 dc corner group. ending with sl st in 1st. Finish off, weave in all tails.
